The Gingerbread House

In hopes of dispelling the boredom that comes from 2 weeks of school vacation (yes, TWO WEEKS! who decides these things? Not a mom who will be home with the children for said time, obviously), we made a gingerbread house today. I bought the house-shaped cookies, the frosting, and a few random candies. Then I let the kids tell me where they wanted a glob of frosting and let them go to town. When the candy ran out, this is what we ended up with:

Christmas Party

Our ward Christmas party was Friday night and the kids had a hard time waiting until 6:00 to leave the house. Can't you see the anticipation (and the 'why are you taking pictures when it's time to go?) on her face?

We let them open their new Christmas pajamas that night so they could wear them to the party. After I put Crit's on, he ran around the house yelling, "I'm Mickey Mouse! I'm Mickey Mouse!" I think he likes them.

They both sat on the Big Guy's lap without tears or the use of force.

They found the stereo playing Christmas music after they put in their requests. I wish I had video of the dancing. (Dancing was not part of the planned party activities.)
