Getting Back To It...

Life is good. We have had a great year, but unfortunately I haven't shared it. So I'll just start from now and maybe fill in later if I get inspired to do so.

We spent spring break in Moab again this year. We spent 3 nights in a campground we're never going back to (nothing but sand and neighbors so close we could barely open the door without hitting their trailer), and we spent the days exploring Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

This is Crit at Double Arch. Can you see how much he loves his CamelBak? We each have one, but they have been in the garage for years. We dug them out for this trip and the kids were in heaven. Carry your own water on your back and never ask me to hold it for you? Yes, please.

Moab has a great walking/biking path through the city. We took an evening stroll after dinner one night. It was more of a run than a stroll for the kids, but whatever tires them out is good with us.

The weather was great. It was cool in the morning but perfect for shorts and tee-shirts in the afternoon. We were nervous because it had been stormy and windy the week before. We didn't even get rained on! Last year we drove home in a downpour.

Remember that claustrophobic campground I mentioned? Here's the proof:

Let me explain: The Jeep and the tan colored motorhome were our neighbors in the next site. The white trailer and the truck behind it are ours (we upgraded in a big way last year). The neighbor's Jeep is actually parked on top of our fire pit. The brown stuff on the ground is sand. The kind of sand that gets everywhere without you even knowing it. I swept piles and piles out of the trailer everyday.

We had a great time together and enjoyed having a few days off to spend as a family. We were exhausted from all the hiking, but it was wonderful to sleep in a real bed each night.
